- hold øje med siden her!!

We’ve just made an agreement with fotoblogger.dk who will cover Nature Photo Camp and bring news and interviews direct from the camp. We really appreciate this because it will set focus on the camp and the people who can not join the Nature Photo Camp will still get some of the fun. Peter Kirring who is the owner of Fotoblogger.dk and former Country Manager at Nikon, has a good insight into the world of photo equipment, so we guess there will also be something at the blog from the producers’ stocks.

At the moment we work very hard because there has been much more awareness of Nature Photo Camp than we had imagined, and that is GREAT! View full post »

Tom Svensson is a Wildlife Photographer from Sveden and he will speak at Nature Photo Camp. He has just finished his new book ”The white lions” which will be out in end sept. on Symposion.
He has just returned from a trip where he took photos of the little tuff guy – the Arctic fox. It is with pleasure we can see the fact that this year has been the best in 100 years for arctic foxes in breeding numbers.
Tom will be off some time to hold lectures in Austria on a large photo/Film festival, and we look forward to his return and to meet him at the Nature Photo Camp where he will present some of his best photos.
Tom Svensson does a remarkable job for nature conservation through his photos and we would recommend to take a look at his homepage www.tomsvensson.se and se his great photos at

Photographer and researcher Carsten Egevang spend July in the Thule area in Northern Greenland. Carsten was at the site to conduct biological fieldwork on the small seabird, the little auk, but the site also held a small population of muskoxen. Carsten Egevang explains that the summer offered many fine experiences with the muskoxen and the spare time was spend on experimenting with his camera, trying to capture a different type of muskoxen images – different to the images you normally see of the big animal and to the images already present in the archive of
www.arc-pic.com.
At Nature Photo Camp Carsten Egevang will communicate his experiences from living and working in Greenland, where his work as a researcher takes him to some of the finest natural sites in the country. Carsten will tell about his own development from a biologist equipped with camera, to today where he is one of the leading photographers in Greenland, with several awards in wildlife photography. His talk will contain both traditional image presentation along with slide shows where sound and images are combined.
Carsten Egevang has a great knowledge and experience about the arctic nature and wildlife and we look forward to see his fantastic photos from Greenland. Read more about Carsten Egevang
For Roy Mangersnes, the Arctic islands of Svalbard are all about light. He will show a number of images from this fantastic archipelago north of Norway, from both winter and summer. There will be stunning landscapes, thrilling encounters with wildlife and breathtaking light.”
We just got an update from Roy and a few great photos: The last months I have been working steadily with my upcoming book. In fact I have been working with this project, on and off, for several years, but it has all come together during the last six months. The book will be a guide to the wildlife to be found in the urban recreational areas around cities in Norway. My particular case is the lakes of Mosvatnet and Stokkavatnet in Stavanger. These are areas under enormous pressure and with hugh value for both people and animals. Mammals and birds are presented and described to a level of detail that the average guy will understand. Also, the different habitats in the area are presented, and the importance of keeping them intact is being emphasized. As a wildlife photographer I have been focusing on the images, and hopefully the book will also be of interest for those that only look at the pictures.
The current status is that the book is ready for printing. There will be made some proofs for me to see and then it will go into print. According to my schedule it will be available on the 25th of October, and I will bring some copies to Nature Photo Camp if someone would be interested. Roy Mangersnes will speak at the Nature Photo Camp and this is going to be a great experience. Read more about Roy Mangersnes.

Magnus Elander has been occupied with arctic issues most of his life, and he just returned from a cruise around Svalbard and NE-Greenland. This summer will most probably be an all time low in terms of the extent of packice in the arctic basin. That was, however, not obvious off east Greenland where the ship got stuck the dense multiyear ice. Here you can se a few of his stunning photos and to se more, you can visit his website at www.magnuselander.com
At the Nature Photo Camp Magnus Elander will give a slide presentation on the recent comeback of large predators (brown bear, wolf, wolverine and lynx) in the Nordic countries with focus on Sweden. He has worked for more than a decade with our attitudes towards these animals and he will also discuss the benefits to have them roaming in our forests as well as the identify problems they create. His book “The Big Five” (“Rovdjur”) was awarded the Panda Book of the Year by World Wildlife Fund, WWF in 2003.
The photos and the stories from this project are so exciting and we look forward to enjoy Magnus’s show at the Nature Photo Camp.
Nature Photographer Jesper Tønning who will speak at the Nature Photo Camp 2011 has been at Råbjerg Mile with his camera and he has got some amazing photos.
On his blog you can see all his photos from the project Magic Morning at Råbjerg Mile and furthermore you can read about his techniques. By visiting his blog you can get a lot of very good inspiration from his nature photos and from his great articles about photography and the equipment that he uses.
Read more about Jesper Tønning and the other photographers who will speak at the Nature Photo Camp on www.photo-camp.dk/photographers.
